Nora Bergfield and Diane Patrick with the Double Oak Women’s Club presented a check for $4,100 to Double Oak Fire Chief Russell Mabra at the club’s Christmas Luncheon in December. Other volunteer firefighters present were Mike Ziegler, Paul Gaines, Joe Dent, and Jerome Hanna. The funds were raised by the women at their auction in November.
The DOWC’s January meeting will be held on Jan. 19 at 7:00 P.M. at 140 Forest Park Drive in Double Oak. The speaker will be Double Oak’s new Chief of Police, Derrick Watson, on the topic of personal safety and vigilance to protect your home, family, and community.
