Update: Northlake’s boil water notice continues

Wednesday afternoon update: The town of Northlake’s boil water notice remains in effect Wednesday evening, and the next update is not expected until Thursday.

Original story: The town of Northlake issued a boil water notice for some of its residents on Tuesday night after a contractor hit a line at the Harvest pump station, causing the storage tank to drain.

Just before 9 p.m., the town shared on social media that the boil water notice is in effect until further notice for all Northlake residents north of FM 1171, excluding the Canyon Falls subdivision. For those residents, water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil, and then boiled for two minutes, and cooled before consumed.

The town said it is working to resolve the issue quickly and will notify residents when the water is safe to consume. If you have questions about this matter, contact Northlake Public Works Director Eric Tamayo at 940-242-5704.

This story will be updated after the boil water notice is rescinded.
