Flower Mound is the No. 5 “Safest City to Raise a Child in” in the country, according to a study by SafeWise, a community-focused security organization.
To compile the list, researchers examined the most recent FBI violent and property crimes data, and they took into account the prevalence of crime, graduation rates and how well each community is positioned to help kids thrive, according to the SafeWise website. In the blurb written about Flower Mound, SafeWise cites the town’s extensive trail system, community health center and youth action council as amenities that make it a great place for kids.
Flower Mound is the only Texas municipality in the top 10, while six other Texas cities made it into the top 50. Click here for more information.
