Happy Spring and Happy Easter from Bartonville!
The Town’s general election will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019. This is the “at large” election for Councilmember Place 1, Place 3 and Place 5, for two-year terms. Place 3 held by Clay Sams and Place 5 held by Josh Phillips are unopposed. Jeff Traylor (incumbent) and Sherry Pound have filed for Place 1. A special election will also be held on May 4, 2019, to elect one resident to serve in the unexpired term (ending May 2020) of Place 4, recently vacated by Jim Murphy.
A Candidate Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17th at 7 p.m. at the Bartonville Town Hall.
Bartonville Town Hall has been selected as an early voting and election day location. You can early vote at any Denton County polling location April 22nd to 27th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as April 29th and April 30th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election Day, May 4th, polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A few other items to note:
- A dedication ceremony for Our Hometown Hero Wall, part of our Veteran’s Memorial program honoring the memory of Bartonville residents who gave their lives while serving in the Armed Forces, will take place at Bartonville Town Hall on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30 p.m.
- The April Planning and Zoning Commission meeting has moved from Wednesday, April 3rd to Thursday, April 4th at 7 p.m.
- Town Hall will be closed on Friday, April 19th in observance of Good Friday.
- Council is in the process of finalizing the 2019 road projects, which include: Maple/Mulberry, Wolf Run, Broome, Dove Creek (NC to Fox Run), Stonewood, Hidden Oaks, Cardinal, Dove Creek (Fox Run to Hat Creek), Glenview, Roadrunner, Hunter Ct, Ridgewood, and Timberidge.
