Highland Village photographer earns Craftsman degree

Guy T Phillips

Guy T Phillips of What’s That Guy’s Name? | PHOTOGRAPHY BY GUY T in Highland Village has earned the Photographic Craftsman degree from Professional Photographers of America, according to a news release.

The degree was presented to Phillips by Texas PPA Executive Director Steve Kozak, M. Photog., CR., CPP and PPA president Stephen Thetford, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, at the association’s annual convention, Imaging USA, in January in Atlanta.

This degree means that Phillips has met the standards of excellence set by PPA and is recognition of his service to the photographic profession as an orator, author and mentor, according to the news release. In 2019, he was one of only 73 recipients.

Phillips’ degree—and all the expertise it requires—illustrates his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few. He is a member of the Dallas PPA and an Associate Fellow with the Texas PPA. He has delivered numerous seminars and presentations on behalf of the TPPA and PPA, and is a volunteer at many of the association’s conferences. He has authored articles for the TPPA’s ‘The Photographer Magazine’, and will be an instructor at the 2019 Texas School in Addison this April 28 – May 3.
