DCTA offering free rides on Election Day

The Denton County Transportation Authority is offering free rides on Tuesday to help people get out and vote on Election Day.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and select DCTA services will be free all day, according to a DCTA news release. Riders will not be required to show proof of voter registration or destination to ride DCTA free.

People can ride the following DCTA services for free on Election Day:

  • A-train commuter rail
  • Connect Bus system (Denton and Lewisville)
  • University of North Texas (UNT) and North Central Texas College (NCTC) Campus Shuttles
  • Highland Village Connect Shuttle
  • Denton Enterprise Airport On-Demand service

Denton County voters can locate their polling places at votedenton.com. DCTA riders can find the best service or route to polling places via the agency’s website, Transit Tracker system or call DCTA customer service at 940-243-0077.
