The town of Flower Mound’s Parks and Recreation department took home three awards during the Texas Recreation and Park Society North Region conference last month, according to a town news release.
Each year, the TRAPS North Region recognizes and honors Parks and Rec departments across North Texas. Flower Mound was recognized with the following awards:
- Recreation Facility Design Excellence Award – Twin Coves Park
- Park Professional of the Year – Gary Sims (Flower Mound’s executive director of community services, now retired)
- Promotional Award – Independence Fest
