Canyon Falls water line to be shut down

The water line for the Northlake side of the Canyon Falls neighborhood will be shut down for eight hours this week.

From 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, Mela Contracting will install new components for a connection to the existing water system for the Canyon Falls pump station that is currently under construction, according to the town of Northlake. Customers will be without water during this time.

None of the work requires residents to be home and at no time will field crews have to enter your home, according to the town.

The town issued a public notice to boil water for its Canyon Falls residents because the water lines will be depressurized. Residents should begin boiling water on Thursday morning until the town rescinds the boil water notice, which could be within two or three days.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use, according to the town. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

For more information, call the Town of Northlake Public Works Department at 940-242-5707.
