Hilltop Elementary in Argyle to get temporary classrooms

Argyle Town Council approved a request last week from the Argyle ISD to add some temporary classrooms to a local elementary school.

The school district sought approval of a site plan amendment that would allow for three temporary classrooms to be installed on the north side of Hilltop Elementary School, 1050 Harrison Lane.

At last week’s Town Council meeting, staff said the school district requested the temporary classrooms to allow for an overflow of students until the future Argyle ISD elementary school is built in the Harvest neighborhood. That school is expected to open in time for the 2019-2020 school year, so the temporary classrooms are only expected to be needed for the 2018-19 school year.

Argyle Town Council unanimously approved the site plan amendment after a brief discussion.
