Local residents can kick off this summer with some fun at the Celebrate Highland Village event on June 2, sponsored by the city of Highland Village.
The morning and evening will be busy at Unity Park, beginning with a 1K and a 5K walk/run at 7:30 a.m., followed by the Family Fish Out at 9 a.m. and the Arbor Day Proclamation at 10:30 a.m., including giveaways of Texas-native Redbud trees. Click here for race registration information.
That evening, the park will host food vendors, kids zone, live music, starting at 6 p.m. The evening will wrap up with the grand finale fireworks extravaganza.
The event is free and is expected to attract 3-4,000 people.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, bug spray and small coolers, and they’re discouraged from bringing pets and glass containers.
