Lewisville charter school to host 5K to benefit first responders

Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville, a ResponsiveEd public charter school, will host the fifth annual Run to the Rescue 5K next week to benefit first responders.

The race is scheduled for the morning of April 7, with a cost of $25 to register. On-site registration will open at 8 a.m., with an opening ceremony at 8:30, the 1-mile Fun Run at 9 and the 5K starting at 9:15 a.m. Runners will meet by the baseball field at the Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville campus, 1010 Bellaire Blvd., Lewisville.

All registration fees and donations will support local first responders as well as the continued mission of Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville to provide quality education to the community it serves, according to a news release. ResponsiveEd is a nonprofit corporation that operates more than 70 tuition-free public schools throughout Texas and Arkansas, and its mission is to provide hope to students through innovative, character-based,  personalized learning environments.
