Atmos Energy donated $2,000 to the Flower Mound Fire Department to help with carbon monoxide prevention.
Atmos representatives presented its donation to the fire department during Monday night’s Town Council meeting, according to the town.
The money will be used to purchase 11 carbon monoxide detectors that will be attached to FMFD’s cardiac monitors. When crews respond to medical calls at homes and businesses, especially with winter nearing, the risk of exposure to this tasteless odorless gas increases. The detectors will serve as a small safety measure to help keep Flower Mound safer, according to the town.
