Highland Village police want to remind residents to take precautions to avoid being victims of vehicle burglaries.
“We recently had several thefts occur from vehicles left unlocked in our city,” said a police department news release on Thursday. Police provided the following tips to protect your property from these crimes:
- Lock your vehicle
- Take your keys
- Remove all your valuables from the vehicle
- Park your vehicle inside your garage if possible
- Keep the garage door closed
- Make sure you have good exterior lighting
- Consider a home security camera system
- Report all suspicious activity
