Registration is now open for National Night Out, the annual cohesive effort to promote crime prevention, police-community relationships and neighborhood unity.

Neighborhoods will organize block parties from 6-9:30 p.m. on Oct. 3, and residents can join nearly 38 million people around the country in National Night Out.

To register in Flower Mound, fill out this form and hand-deliver it to the police department, 4150 Kirkpatrick Lane, or email it to [email protected]. The deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 27. Street barricades will be provided upon request.

Flower Mound kids in elementary school are invited to participate in the NNO poster contest in the theme “Partners to Stop Crime.” Click here for full contest rules and entry information. Entries must be submitted in person at the police department by noon on Sept. 28.

In Northlake, the town has typically held NNO at the Church of Christ next to Town Hall, but “this year, we are taking NNO to the neighborhoods,” the town posted on Facebook.

Northlake residents are asked to organize block parties for their neighborhood. Contact Sgt. Thornton at [email protected] or call 940-648-4804, extension 235.

Other NNO events are usually held in Argyle and Double Oak neighborhoods.
