Christine Liu’s faith has been a great source of comfort and support for her throughout her life. The recent Liberty Christian graduate said that her favorite things about attending LCS have revolved around her religious beliefs.
“I have liked spending time in chapel and also in SOAK,” Liu said. “Every Monday night, we have what we call SOAK, and we have a kind of worship at a student house. I really like that. It’s like a prayer service. We sing worship songs and then we talk.”
Liu was also a member of the Mandarin Club, National Honor Society, the SADD Club and a new club called MIX International, which the Liberty Christian graduate enjoyed the most of all. She said it is something to which she can personally relate.
“It’s an international club, where we welcome international students,” Liu said. “We will go to the airport to pick them up, then have a Monday lunch meeting and just talk with them to kind of help their English.
“I was once an international student,” Liu said. “So I understand how it is to transfer from another country to a new school and how hard it is to adjust to a new environment.”
Liu is originally from China, and said if there was one thing she could change about the world it would be bring an end to bigotry everywhere.
“I think I would like to see a lot less prejudice in the world,” Liu said. “I wish people would just see each other as being equals.”
Liu, who graduated with a 4.0 from LCS, was also a varsity tennis player and said she enjoyed being so involved, because she believes it is what she is called to do.
“I feel like I have the potential to help others; and, I should,” Liu said.
She is a member of New Life Gospel Church and is attending the University of Texas at Austin where she plans to study Public Health.
