Rain moved in on Thursday afternoon and is expected to continue through the holiday weekend, along with much colder temperatures.
Denton County could see more than a half-foot of rain that may result in flash flooding.
Temperatures will fall during the day on Friday as a cold front pushes through. Winds will shift to the north at 15-20 mph with higher gusts as the front moves through.
Saturday will be the coldest day with high temperatures only in the upper 30s and 40s.
DFW Airport’s 2015 total of 50.75 inches of rain is within 3 inches of the all-time yearly record of 53.54 inches set in 1991.
