Travis County sheriffs deputies have arrested a man who allegedly stole a Highland Village vehicle Wednesday and fled the area.
Jacob Sandoval, 32 of Cedar Hill, was picked up by the TCSO and booked about 1:45 a.m. Thursday and charged him with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The vehicle, a 2005 Ford Expedition, was recovered at the scene of the arrest.
According to Highland Village police, the TCSO received a report of a naked man setting fire to a vehicle at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. The fire marshal is investigating the state of that vehicle.
On Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. Sandoval, a naked Hispanic man, approached a city employee in his vehicle near Unity Park in Highland Village. After telling the employee that he needed 911 services, Sandoval allegedly entered the SUV by pulling on the window and breaking it.
The city employee was able to get out of the SUV safely through the passenger door and was uninjured.
Sandoval then drove away in the Expedition.
As of this time, the TCSO has not listed bond or sentence for Sandoval.
