Lewisville Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person or vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Monday, June 8.

Sometime between 9:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., a 32-year-old man was struck while attempting to cross the street in the 600 block of South Garden Ridge Boulevard at FM 1171 on the Flower Mound border.

The victim was crossing Garden Ridge westbound mid-block and was not in a crosswalk and was likely struck by a southbound vehicle, police said. The victim was walking to a retail area on the southwest corner of South Garden Ridge Boulevard and FM 1171.

Police said the victim was transported to Medical Center of Lewisville and then by air ambulance to Medical Center of Plano, and is currently unresponsive and in critical condition.

Investigators do not know what type of vehicle was involved in the hit-and-run and have very limited information. It is possible the driver did not know he or she struck a person, police said.

Anyone with any information on the hit and run should contact the Lewisville Police Department at 972-219-TIPS (8477) or Denton County Crime Stoppers at 800-388-TIPS (8477).  You can also text a tip anonymously using the keyword “TipLPD” with your information to 847411.
