The Marcus girls soccer team defeated Belton on Thursday afternoon by a score of 1-0 to advance to the regional quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
Natalie Schmutz scored the goal in the game for the Lady Marauders.
Marcus will play district rival Coppell in the third round of the playoffs at a time and location to be determined.
The Lady Marauders were 1-0-1 this year against Coppell, defeating the Lady Cowboys in their last encounter on March 7 by a score of 2-0.
