Argyle lands 7 on the 2014 AP All-State team

Argyle RB Nick Ralston, with more than 2,500 yards and 42 touchdowns including three 300-yards plus games, earns spot on APSE 2nd team All State.

Nick Ralston will take the field Friday for his 53rd varsity game as an Argyle Eagle. In his football career at Argyle High School, Ralston has rushed for more than 6,000 yards, scored just under 700 points and has made eight school records.

The Argyle Eagles (15-0) will face the Navasota Rattlers (15-0) for the Class 4A Division I state championship title at 4 p.m. at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium. The game will be aired on Fox Sports Southwest.

Others making the All-State roster include: Offensive lineman Matt Hiter, who earned a spot on the APSE 2014 1st team All State; defensive lineman David Bearden, who has 23 tacles for loss and 12 sacks, was chosen for the APSE 2nd team All State; and four on the team were named to the APSE All State Honorable Mention including Matt Waggoner, offensive lineman; Drew Estrada, wide receiver; Taylor Sweatt, linebacker; and Dane Ledford, defensive back.
