Liberty students deliver gifts to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen

In celebration of Christmas, Liberty Christian’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club presented 50 wrapped gifts to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in Denton.

“Our club really wanted to help others locally this Christmas season,” said sponsor Kari Northeim.

Our Daily Bread supports the homeless by serving daily meals and providing free health care as well as personal grooming services.

Students of SADD purchased basic hygiene items, socks, lip balm, shampoo, and soap, as well as pads of paper and pens, and personally wrapped every gift.

SADD president Kenah Smith said, “In giving these I gifts, I learned that we take so much for granted. We are so blessed, and it is a great feeling to give a little bit of Christmas to those around us in need.”

Students gathered the supplies and boxes and met at school to wrap the gifts together. 

Mrs. Northeim said, “With Christmas music playing, all who participated found the Christmas spirit – it is about celebrating Christ’s birth and serving others – that is what it is all about.”
