Clearing of property for a new housing development off of Cross Timbers Road between Firewheel and Fireside drives in Flower Mound has recently started.
Hunters Glen, with homes expected to start in the mid $500,000 range, will include 10,000-square-foot lots with a range of homes featuring multiple living areas and three-car garages as well as meandering and shorter streets.
The development, with just more than 70 homes, will be located behind existing and future retail and commercial businesses facing Cross Timbers Road and Firewheel Drive.
Children of homeowners in the development will attend Forest Vista Elementary, Forestwood Middle School and Flower Mound High School.
The development will also feature brick screen walls, landscaping borders and stone columns to delineate the property along areas fronting major streets, according to a news release from the developer, Wilbow Corporation. Homebuilders will be American Legend Homes and Darling Homes.
Construction of the homes is slated to begin next summer.
This is the second housing development to begin construction this month. Earlier this week, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for Orchard Flower, a housing development for older residents off FM 3040 and Old Orchard Lane.
Orchard Flower will feature individual patio-style homes in the $300,000 to $400,000 range.
