We made our Foodie Friday visit to Empress of China in Flower Mound this week to enjoy some delicious Chinese Food.
I was first struck by the overall feel and atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s very modern and comfortable and felt like the perfect place to grab a quick lunch or to enjoy a date night out.
I also couldn’t get over how BUSY they were for the middle of the week – and from observing several of the tables around us, it appeared there were a lot of regulars in the house. I saw several people who didn’t even require menus and when the wait staff approached their table, they knew the customer’s order perfectly. You don’t find many places like that any more so it was incredibly refreshing to see.
We were seated and finished eating in about 30 minutes, so if you require a quick lunch or are in a hurry for dinner, this might be a great place for you to add to your list! But the most incredible part was that they were so polite and courteous through the whole efficient process. Even if I have to eat quickly, I never like feeling rushed.
So, let’s get to the food!
We started off with some Fried Dumplings which were INCREDIBLE. You could tell they were made from scratch and the pan-sear on them offered the perfect crispiness on the outside with a soft and chewy interior. I probably could have made an entire meal out of just the dumplings alone.
For our main courses, we ordered the Hot Garlic Sauce Chicken and the Mongolian Stir-Fry. The Garlic Chicken had a little hint of heat to it (if you want it REALLY noticeably spicy, I would ask for it to be served that way) and was mixed with a wonderful variety of vegetables. And the Mongolian Beef was perfectly tender and excellently dressed so that it wasn’t too heavy.
By the end of our meal we were perfectly satisfied without being overly full. And we had PLENTY of food to take home with us. But I’m a little upset with myself that I didn’t order any of their soups because people all around me were ordering them and I feel like I really missed out on something.
Which of their soups is your favorite so I can try it next time I go back?
Between its efficient and kind customer service and its consistent and delicious food, this is a great place to stop by for lunch during the day, order take-out from or go on a date to for dinner!
Head out to their location off of Justin Rd near Dolce Cafe this weekend for some great Chinese food! It’s time to start stretching those stomachs for Christmas eating, Foodies!
