Flower Mound economic growth going strong

With new businesses filing for commercial permits and certificates of occupancy and a low unemployment rate, Flower Mound is showing strong signs of growth heading into the holiday season.

According to a monthly report from the Town of Flower Mound’s Economic Development Department, several new businesses are opening in Flower Mound, according to town records.

In November, three businesses received certificates of occupancy including:

*Awesome Petroleum, Inc. (Shell Gas), 2208 Long Prairie Road

*Curry’s Indian Cafe, 1901 Long Prairie Road, Suite 124

*Infinity Air Promotions, 2811 Justin Road, Suite B

Additional businesses and facilities received commercial permits in November including:

*Foot Palace, 1901 Long Prairie Road, Suite 120 – a 1,500 square foot remodeled facility (finish out)

*Hardware Resources, 501 Gerault Road, Suite 140 – 95,950-square-foot new building (finish out)

*Me Body Baby, 2608 Long Prairie Road, Suite 201 – 1,853-square-foot new building (finish out)

*NWCTX LLC, 501 Gerald Road, Suite 130 – 74,950-square-foot new building (finish out)

*Pump House – East Side of Channel at 4300 Long Prairie Road, 252-square-foot new building (commercial)

*Signature Systems Group, 1201 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 150, 32,675-square-foot new building (finish out)

*Whole Health Wellness Center, 3201 Cross Timbers Road, B1/5200 – 2,638-square-foot new building (finish out)

*Parkview Commerce Center, Building 3 at 900 Gerault Road, 140,704-square-foot new building (shell)

*Parkview Commerce Center, Building 1 at 1001 Spinks Road – 84,760-square-foot new building (shell)

*Parkview Commerce Center, Building 2 at 901 Spinks Road, 50,590-square-foot new building (shell)

In other economic news, Flower Mound’s unemployment rate for October 2014 was 4 percent, below the Denton County unemployment rate of 4.5 percent and the state’s unemployment rate of 5.1 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate for October 2014 was 5.8 percent.

For October 2013, Flower Mound’s unemployment rate stood at 5.1 percent, below the Denton County unemployment rate of 5.3 percent and the statewide unemployment rate of 6 percent. The U.S. unemployment rate for October 2013 was 7 percent.
