In the bi-district playoffs, both Liberty Christian and Argyle easily won their games Friday to advance to the next rounds.
Liberty Christian 50, Concordia Lutheran 20
Liberty Christian won the first playoff round in the TAPPS 1 Bi-district game against Concordia Lutheran Friday.
With 2 minutes left in the first quarter, Liberty Christian’s Jon Copeland made a 12-yard pass to Justus Lee for a touchdown. With about one minute left, Concordia Lutheran answered with a 55-yard rushing touchdown, tieing the score 6-6. Still in the first quarter, Liberty grabbed two more points to end the quarter 8-6.
Early in the second quarter, Copeland completed a 15-yard pass to Kyleb Howell for a touchdown, bringing the score to 15-6. With three minutes remaining Howell made a two-yard rushing touchdown, adding points on the scoreboard to make it 22-6. A minute or so later, Howell completes a 55-yard defensive touchdown and the score is 29-6 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Concordia scores a three-yard rushing touchdown to add six points to the scoreboard at 29-12. A two-point conversion attempt by Concordia failed. The third quarter ends with a score of 29-12.
In the fourth quarter, both teams push hard with Copeland completing a three-yard rushing touchdown. A minute later, Concordia completes a 90-yard kick return for a touchdown and then completes a two-point conversion, making the score 36-20. Howell completes a three-yard rushing touchdown, bringing the score to 43-20. With two minutes remaining in the game, Zach Keller completes an 80-yard rushing touchdown making the final score 50-20.
Liberty Christian will advance to the next level of playoffs with a team, time and date to be determined.

Argyle 70, Lake Worth 7
The Argyle football team began it’s quest for a second consecutive state championship on Friday night against Lake Worth in Saginaw, and the Eagles failed to disappoint.
Argyle crushed the Bullfrogs by a score of 70-7 in the bi-district round of the post season.The Eagles improved to 11-0 on the
season with the victory.
Gage McCook got things started for Argyle, breaking a 50-yard run for a score.Nick Ralston scored on a one-yard run to put Argyle up by 14 points, and McCook scored again on a 24-yard pass from Cooper Rodgers to give the Eagles a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Argyle picked right where it left off, scoring on a 35-yard pass from Rodgers to Drew Estrada to start the quarter, and then a 12-yard pass to McCook.
Rodgers then hit JC Chalk on a 17-yard pass and Drew Estrada on a 12-yard pass to made it 49-0 at the break.
In the third quarter, McCook scored again on a 40-yard pass from Rodgers, and Blake DeWoody scored on a 10-yard run. Lake Worth finally broke through in the fourth quarter, but Argyle answered with a three-yard run from Jake Pelton. Cooper Rodgers passed for 228 yards and six touchdowns in the game.
Argyle will play the winner of the Princeton/Kaufman game in the next round at a time and date to be determined.
