Tomorrow after 9 a.m., a Denton Municipal Electric subcontractor will move a large electrical transformer from the substation on Airport Road in Denton to Bryan, TX.
This transport was originally scheduled for today (November 13), but the Town negotiated the transport time to help avoid rush hour traffic. Tomorrow, the transport will travel south on Long Prairie Road (FM 2499) and proceed west on Cross Timbers Road (FM 1171) to Interstate 35W.
This transport will require FM 1171, from Shiloh Road to Interstate 35W, to be closed to all other traffic for motorist safety since the transport vehicle encompasses two lanes of traffic. The Flower Mound Police Department, with assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Denton County Constables from Precinct 4, will work diligently to escort this transport to Interstate 35W as quickly as possible.
Please share this info with family, friends, and coworkers that this will happen Friday morning! There will be significant traffic issues related to this project, so please consider taking routes alternative to the one assigned and approved by the Texas Department of Transportation for this transport tomorrow.
