Lewisville ISD schools sweep UIL state cross country meet

Lewisville ISD (LISD) cross country teams swept the UIL State Cross Country Meet.

In the UIL 6-6A division, Hebron High School (HHS) girls placed first, winning a State Championship – the first in school history.

Marcus High School (MHS) girls placed second, while the boys placed eighth.

In the UIL 9-5A division, The Colony High School (TCHS) girls placed third and boys placed sixth.

“We are excited about another sweep for LISD in one week – first our bands and now our cross country teams,” LISD Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell said.

“The runners and coaches from all schools worked very hard to get to this point, and it’s evident that it paid off.

“Additionally, it’s excellent to have the first-ever cross country State Championship for Hebron High School,” Waddell said.

LISD had four schools travel to the state meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock including Hebron High School, Marcus High School, The Colony High School and Flower Mound High School.
