The North Central Texas College Stock Horse team competed this past weekend at the Stock Horse of Texas (SHOT) World Championship Show.
The NCTC team was crowned the SHOT Collegiate World Champions for 2014, besting six teams including West Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University and Tarleton State University.
The competition included a two-day format with the composite score deciding the World title.
NCTC point riders Shelby Haggart, Maddie Hinds, Kodi Anderson, Lyndi Starr, Clint Johnson and Hannah Yeary outscored their opponents on both days to secure the win.
NCTC also had some standout individual performances with Yeary winning the Novice World Championship along with Hinds and Anderson finishing in the top ten of their divisions.
The team now has its sights fixed on the American Stock Horse Association Collegiate Nationals set for April 23-25, 2015 in Ardmore, Okla.
