Thanks to an alert resident, the Highland Village Police Department was able to apprehend a vehicle burglary suspect.
Police said that on Monday just after 8 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of Brookdale. The suspect, a 17-year old Highland Village resident, was located and questioned.
Based on the suspect’s admissions and stolen property recovered at the scene, officers arrested the suspect for Burglary of a Vehicle. The suspect was booked into the Highland Village City jail and later released after posting bond.
Police continue to investigate several other vehicle burglaries which occurred nearby on Catlin, Scenic and Rockland, along with a stolen vehicle recovered in Flower Mound.
Authorities indicated that additional arrests are pending.
