The wait is finally over! We’ve been waiting for months to head over to Starwood Cafe for some awesome breakfast & lunch options after hearing wonderful things about their original location in Frisco. And now it’s finally open!
Located off FM 2499 in North Flower Mound, Starwood Cafe is the perfect breakfast/lunch addition to that area. Specializing in delicious breakfast foods including omelets, pancakes, crepes and hash brown skillets as well as great lunch options including wraps, sandwiches and salads.
We learned that owner, Andy Rushiti, is originally from the Chicago area and opened up the first Starwood location in Frisco about 2 years ago. Andy has a wealth of experience in the restaurant business as he owns approximately 14 restaurants throughout Chicago-land.
Because it’s Memorial Day weekend and I know you all have places to go and things to do, I’m going to make this post short and sweet and get straight to the food.
We decided to stick with breakfast today because we’ve heard such wonderful things about their breakfast offerings – and we were NOT disappointed. They definitely deliver with great breakfast foods. This is a great weekend brunch spot to consider.
So, first is a Tuscan Omelet which includes sauteed spinach, wild mushrooms, asparagus and provolone. Look at how fluffy that omelet is! And all the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful.
Then we just couldn’t resist ordering some crepes – the Very Berry Crepes stuffed with strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries and dusted with powdered sugar. They were so light and delicious and the fruit added a wonderful freshness.
And we also met a couple of fabulous sisters from Flower Mound at our lunch today and asked if they wouldn’t mind us taking pictures of them enjoying their delicious food out on the patio – to which they happily agreed. So, let me introduce Lisa and Cheri who decided to go with some of Starwood’s lunch dishes.
First there’s the classic Reuben Sandwich with homemade corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. Next is the Chicken Apple Walnut Salad which is a combination of mixed greens, grilled chicken breast, Granny Smith apples, red grapes, walnuts and feta cheese with a raspberry fat free vinaigrette.
My verdict is that this place is definitely a wonderful spot to head for some breakfast and lighter lunch offerings during the week and makes a great weekend brunch spot as well.
So, this weekend when you’re looking for a place to grab a delicious bite with the family in between barbecuing and lounging by the pool – head on over to Starwood Cafe and try out one of their breakfast dishes, a sandwich or one of their fresh salads.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day, Foodies!
