Argyle 6, Sanger 2
Argyle’s Hunter Markwardt threw five shutout innings on Saturday afternoon as the Eagles beat crosstown rival Sanger to advance to the Class 3A Region II semifinals.
Tanner Boyzuick had 3 RBI’s and Ryley Balch went 2 for 2 in the game.
The Eagles won Game 2 against Sanger earlier on Saturday by a score of 6-3. Argyle was shut out 8-0 in Game 1 of the series on Friday night.
With the back to back victories on Saturday, Argyle advances to the regional semifinals where it will face Pleasant Grove in a three-game series at times and locations to be determined.
