Lewisville ISD’s Board of Trustees met on Friday and called a special election to fill the Place 3 seat vacated by Dr. Mark Welding.
The election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in conjunction with the general election.
Welding, 45, of Highland Village, submitted his resignation from the board on Aug. 12, effective immediately, citing personal reasons. He was elected in May 2013, succeeding Jeff Knapp.
Candidates interested in filing to serve on the LISD Board of Trustees may submit their application beginning Aug. 17.
Applications are available at the LISD Administration Building, 1800 Timber Creek Road, Flower Mound.
All applications are due on Sept. 4 by 5 p.m.
