The 12U AAA Highland Village Storm Baseball Team recently returned from Cooperstown, N.Y. where they participated in a tournament and were inducted in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.
Competing against teams from around the country, the Storm wound up going 4-2 and were ranked 39th.
Each year, the participants of the Cooperstown Dreams Park National Invitational Tournament are inducted into the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame.
Much like the National Baseball Hall of Fame for major league players, each participant receives the coveted American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame ring and officially becomes one of the Cooperstown Dreams Park Little Majors.
While in Cooperstown, the Storm players and their extended family and friends that made the trip were also able to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
“We enjoyed our experience immensely and the memories we made will truly last a lifetime,” said Storm Head Coach Mark Lowry.
The trip was made possible with financial assistance from the Highland Village Area Baseball & Softball Association, fundraisers at local businesses including DBI Baseball and BlueLine Services and through the support of local community members.
“We thank our sponsors for making this trip possible and giving us the opportunity to start an annual tradition for future 12U baseball teams in HVABSA,” said Lowry.
