The Flower Mound Town Council is holding public hearings on Monday, Feb. 20, and Monday, Mar. 5, to solicit public input regarding proposed amendments to the Town Charter.
Flower Mound’s Town Charter governs the actions of the town council, sets boundaries for the government, and creates the basic guidelines and principles under which the town operates.
The Town of Flower Mound Home Rule Charter was adopted in 1981 and amended in 1985, 1989, 2004, and 2007.
Charter amendments require voter approval and must occur every five years. The town council appointed a Charter Review Commission to evaluate the charter, receive feedback from the community, and propose amendments to the town council for consideration.
The public hearings will be held during regular Town Council meetings, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. both nights at Town Hall, 2121 Cross Timbers Road.
Questions and comments regarding the review of the Town Charter or the proposed amendments can be emailed to [email protected]. For additional information, call 972-874-6076.
