Obit: Kewal Krishan Sawhney

Kewal Krishan Sawhney of Flower Mound found peace on September 5, 2011, at the age of 73 years.

Kewal was the loving son of the late Wishwanath Sawhney and of the late Motia Devi Sawhney; Beloved husband of Devika Rani Sawhney; survived by his loving brother-Brij (Vinita), sister-Kamlesh Anand and family; Sister-Satish Anand and family; nephew-Himanshu (Priya) and niece-Jalpa (Vikram) and Great Nephews and Great Nieces.

Loved Brother in law of Mohini Raisinghani, Ashok Krishnaney (Kamini), Shab Krish ( teve Johnson),  Neelam (Rick  Davison); Proud Uncle to Ajit  (Mariel), Sujit,  Sumeeta, Ravi, Leena (Michael),  Rajeev,  Brittany, and Alan; Adoring Great Uncle of Ajay, Aidan; Oliver and Cameron.

Kewal was a generous, loving and a deeply spiritual soul who strongly believed in unconditional love and peace for everyone. Kewal was a dedicated Anesthesiologist. He spent most of his professional life in Kentucky until his retirement, at which time he moved to the Denton area to be near his family.

He was very proud to be a part of the Flower Mound Temple and enjoyed his life in his community with friends and family. Kewal loved to grow vegetables, flowers and herbs in his garden and generously shared the bounty of his garden with his friends and family. He was especially fond of beautiful flowers such as lilies and Roses. He was known for sharing his Tulsi seeds and pots with everyone. He loved cooking, photography, enjoyed traveling and different ethnic foods. Kewal had a generous heart and will be missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of Denton Regional Medical Center and Medical Center of Plano for their dedicated service. Also, special thanks to our very own members of the Flower Mound Temple for their kindness, generosity and support.

Visitation will be held at Restland Funeral Home, 400 S. Freeport Parkway, Coppell, TX 75019, on Friday, September 9, 2011, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Prayers and Bhajans , followed by Lunch will be held on September 17, 2011, at the Flower Mound Hindu Temple.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Flower Mound Hindu Temple or Hindu Heritage Endowment @ Kauai’s Hindu Monastery, 107 Kaholalele Rd. Kapaa, HI 96746-9304.
