Lantana student participates in Lone Star Leadership Academy

Katie Kudrna, a sixth-grade student at Harpool Middle School and former Blanton Elementary student, was selected as a participant in Education in Action’s Lone Star Leadership Academy.

She was selected for her outstanding academic success, leadership ability, community involvement and a recommendation by Blanton music teacher, Victor Lozada.

Education in Action is dedicated to fostering educated and involved Texans and hosts the academy to “Install the Spirit of Texas in tomorrow’s leaders.”

Joined by a delegation of students from across the state, Katie developed leadership skills while learning about Texas and its leaders.  She visited Texas sites including the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Dallas Museum of Nature and Science, Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District and the Sixth Floor Museum.

The Lone Star Leadership Academy provided unique activities for Katie to learn about the “Spirit of Texas” and what it means to be from the Lone Star State.
