Easter on The Mound

The first Easter Sunrise service was held on The Flower Mound 39 years ago, and the yearly tradition lives on today, thanks to three local civic organizations.

Members of the Summit Club of Flower Mound, the Women of Flower Mound, and The Mound Foundation will present the 39th Annual Easter Sunrise Service on The Flower Mound this Sunday, April 24, at 6:35 a.m.

A 20 minute service will be presented, featuring a dramatic sunrise at 6:47 a.m.

The Flower Mound is an 11-acre native prairie grassland area near the corner of FM 2499 and FM 3040 that stands 50 feet above the surrounding area.

Participants should plan to arrive at the service by 6:20 a.m. Parking will be in the Tom Thumb parking lot. Because of the nature of native prairie grasslands, comfortable clothing is recommended over your Sunday best.

The Summit Club invites youth groups from different churches each year to provide the program. This year, Flower Mound Presbyterian Church is presenting the service.
