It’s not too early to begin planning fun and enriching activities for your child’s summer vacation.
Blanton Elementary PTA and The Cross Timbers Gazette invite parents and children to attend a free Summer Camp and Activity Expo this Saturday, February 20, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the school, located at 9501 Stacee Lane in Lantana.
Over 30 exhibitors from around the area, including camps and facilities in Highland Village, Flower Mound, Bartonville, Argyle and other parts of the state, will be on hand to answer parents’ questions.
“With new families frequently relocating to Denton County, parents need an event to assist them in choosing quality activities for their kids,” said Leslie Haralson, event coordinator.
“Being able to explore so many options under one roof in a fun, relaxed setting is a great way to consider activities to suit your child. Whether your child is in preschool or high school, there’s an activity here for you.”
In its second year, the Summer Camp and Activity Expo has added parent seminars conducted throughout the morning hours, and hiring areas for high school and college students to discuss job openings available from participating vendors. Families will also enjoy watching select exhibitors’ presentations on the Expo stage.
The first 1,000 attendees will receive a Kid’s Adventure Guide to take home and continue their summer planning. The guide will feature detailed information about attending exhibitors, to assist parents in continuing their summer planning once the Expo is over.
The Expo will again include a free bicycle helmet giveaway sponsored by RapidMed of Highland Village and Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, Inc. The first 100 children to stop by the Hard Hats for Little Heads booth will receive a free helmet.
