A new study ranked Flower Mound as the No. 1 town or city in Texas in terms of “livability.”
The study — conducted by 24/7 Wall St., a USA TODAY financial news content partner — states that Flower Mound is the “most livable” town or city in Texas and No. 13 in the country.
Researchers evaluated more than three dozen socioeconomic measures, including crime, median income, and education, to ultimately identify the top 50 most desirable American cities to call home.
Flower Mound’s median home value of $344,300 ranked in the top 25 percent of communities studied. More than 61 percent of the population has a bachelor’s degree, which is in the top 10 percent of communities studied, and the 4.7 percent poverty rate was in the bottom 10 percent of communities studied.
Carmel, Indiana took the No. 1 ranking for the country. Two other Texas cities made the top 50: No. 16 Frisco and No. 21 Atascocita.
